Heavy Ion Beam Diagnostic installed in ISTTOK is one of the most rich diagnostics in fusion plasmas able to measure the profiles of electron density and temperature (plasma pressure) and the internal poloidal magnetic field as well as the plasma potential (both constituting the confinement and transport forces). The general principles and unique features of this diagnostic will be exploited during this course.
